Stay Safe on the Road with the Available Features in the New Fusion
Safety Features in the 2018 Ford Fusion
When searching for that perfect new car, there are a lot of things to consider and research. Most often, drivers are interested in how a car looks, how much it costs and how it performs while behind the wheel. However, another important thing to consider is how safe each vehicle is. So for those interested in a new Ford sedan, what are the available safety features in the new 2018 Ford Fusion?
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Pre-Collision Assist
Throughout the many trim levels available for this year’s Fusion, Ford has offered plenty of convenient and reliable safety features. First is the available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Pre-Collision Assist. This feature allows you to choose between 1 of 4 distance settings between you and the driver ahead and will slow, stop or speed up to retain that desired distance.
Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert
The available Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert works by using two hidden radar sensors to be able to alert drivers if there is a car behind you while backing up, or if a car is coming up in your blind spot.
Lane-Keeping Assist System
The available Lane-Keeping Assist System uses a front-facing camera to scan the road ahead and is able to detect your driving lane. If this system suspects that you are drifting out of your lane unintentionally, the feature will vibrate the steering wheel to alert drivers, or in some cases apply steering torque to help move you back into your lane with ease.
There are also other convenient features available in the new sedan that help make driving easier, including the Enhanced Active Park Assist with Parallel and Reverse Perpendicular Parking, as well as CCD with Pothole Mitigation Technology.
