How Powerful is the 2018 Toyota Camry?
Already one of the manufacturer’s most popular vehicles, Toyota completely revamped their Camry for 2018. With the new Camry, Toyota wanted their sedan to offer a more exciting, emotional and energizing driving experience. So now for the eighth generation of the new sedan, just how powerful is the 2018 Toyota Camry?
Engine Options in the 2018 Toyota Camry
Throughout its seven trim levels (excluding the hybrid options), the new 2018 Camry offers four different engine options. These include the all-new 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine, as well as a new 3.5-liter V6 engine, which also uses the D-4S direct-injection system. This system will help by selecting the most efficient injection method based on your driving conditions, and make it so you get optimal power and fuel efficiency on the road.
Even when looking at the standard Camry trim levels from the 2018 and 2017 models, the new engine makes a big difference. While the standard 2017 Toyota Camry LE’s 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine offers 178 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, the standard 2018 Camry’s engine offers 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The new Camry XSE also comes equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, but jumps up to offer 206 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque.
However, in terms of power, the improved 3.5-liter V6 engine steals the show. This engine, which is available on XLE V6 and XSE V6 models, is able to produce an impressive 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque.
