How Powerful is the 2018 Ford Edge?
With the myriad amount of SUV models available today, it can be hard to narrow down your car buying search. However, with Ford SUVs, once you pick one that suits your driving and riding style, there are still plenty of ways to further customize each model. Since many drivers look at the engine options available with each SUV model, just how powerful is the 2018 Ford Edge?
Ford Edge Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost Engine
Standard on new 2018 Ford Edge SE, Titanium and SEL models is the impressive Twin-Scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. Using the twin-scroll turbocharger, along with a high-pressure direct-injection fuel system, the new engine is capable of producing 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.
Ford Edge 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 Engine
Available on both the SEL and Titanium trims of the new SUV is the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT engine. With Ti-VCT technology, this engine eliminates the need for intake and exhaust valves to open and close at a fixed point as seen on conventional valve timing engines. This engine type also allows the Ford Edge to achieve 280 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.
Ford Edge 2.7L V6 EcoBoost Engine
Stanard on the 2018 Ford Edge Sport model is the exciting 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. This engine features a light graphite iron engine block and aluminum heads to help make it the most powerful gas V6 engine in its class, as it is able to generate 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
