What’s new in the 2018 Chevy Equinox?

2018 is looking to be a big year for Chevrolet. While many vehicles around the world are carry-overs from the previous year with minor changes, models such as the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox has received big changes, undergoing a complete redesign for the new model year. For those interested in purchasing a new SUV this holiday season, what’s new in the 2018 Chevy Equinox?

Design of the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

When designing the 2018 Equinox, the Chevrolet team took the 2017 Equinox model and incorporated design cues from their Volt, Malibu and Cruze models. One of the biggest benefits of the SUV’s redesign is that the new Equinox is nearly 400 lbs lighter than the 2017 model, which is a 10 percent decrease in the vehicle’s total weight.

On the interior of the SUV, the new Equinox offers new comfort elements such as the available denim-style fabric. This new fabric is both durable and highly stylish. In order to keep passengers safe, the 2018 Chevy Equinox also incorporates available features such as the Safety Alert Seat, Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking and Surround Vision.

Powering the new 2018 Equinox throughout its trim levels is Chevrolet’s first ever all-turbocharged multi-engine propulsion system lineup. This means that even the standard Equinox will feature a 1.5-liter turbo engine, and is even a segment-exclusive turbo diesel engine available to interested drivers.
