2018 Ford Explorer Trim Level Differences

The all new 2018 Ford Explorer has officially hit the market. The new mid-sized SUV has a number of new and exciting features, including five different trim levels: Base, XLT, Limited, Sport and Platinum. Ranging from MSRPs of $31,990 to $53,940, these five trims all have different unique features to guarantee that, as the buyer, you are getting all the features you want from the 2018 Explorer. But what comes with each of these trims? Here are the 2018 Ford Explorer trim level differences.

Base Trim Features

At an MSRP of $31,990, the base trim level is the most basic of the trims for the 2018 Ford Explorer, but that certainly does not mean it is lacking in features. Some of the base trim’s features include a highway mpg of 27, speed-sensitive steering, 80.7 cubic feet of storage and a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.

XLT Trim Features

At an MSRP of $34,020, the XLT trim level is the next level above the base trim. With this trim level comes all the same features of the base trim, plus exciting features like an available CD player, available heated front seats, available Adaptive Cruise Control and Parking Assist.

Limited Trim Features

At an MSRP of $42,090, the Limited trim level is the third level of the 2018 Ford Explorer. All of the features of the XLT trim come with the Limited trim, on top of features like a 12-speaker audio system with an amplifier, leather seats, hands-free opening liftgate and dual zone front automatic air conditioning.

Sport Trim Features

At an MSRP of $45,950, the Sport trim level is the second highest trim for the 2018 Ford Explorer. It has all the features that come in the Limited trim, plus features like a 365 horsepower engine, standard 4-wheel drive and 350 lb-ft of torque.

Platinum Features

At an MSRP of $53,940, the Platinum trim is the highest trim level available for the 2018 Ford Explorer. It has all the features available in the Sport trim, as well as features like standard Adaptive Cruise Control, LED high beam headlights and standard blind spot monitoring.
