Chevy Releases New Information on the Upcoming Silverado
What’s New in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado?
Making an appearance at this year’s North American International Auto Show back in January, many people were in awe of the all-new Chevy Silverado. With plenty of new improvements to help improve its performance, efficiency and capability, there’s a reason why the Silverado model is so popular among truck enthusiasts. So what’s new in the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado?
Features and Specs of the 2019 Chevy Silverado
Celebrating so many years of service, Chevrolet introduced their upcoming 2019 Silverado exactly 100 years after delivering their first truck model to customers all the way back in 1918. The new Silverado builds upon 100 years of innovation with eight distinct trim levels. The new truck was also designed with mixed materials, helping make the model nearly 450 lbs lighter than the previous year which helps improve performance. It’s impressive that the new Silverado was able to cut so much weight, as the new truck is actually larger than the previous model year as well.
Throughout the eight available trim levels, drivers will also be able to choose between six different engine options. Two of the engines include the all-new 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines, which both include the industry-first Dynamic Fuel Management system which actively shuts off any number of cylinders to help optimize fuel efficiency. Also new to the Silverado engine lineup is the new Duramax 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine. Both this new diesel engine and the 6.2-liter V8 engine will also be paired with the new Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission and start/stop technology to further improve efficiency.
